In a short span of time, CCMG has initiated a number of activities.

Seminars inviting national and international scholars, policymakers and activists for rigorous and creative interactions.

Policy Dialogues are conceived as daylong roundtables for engagements with the bureaucracy, industry and civil society on policy concerns emanating from the Centre’s thrust areas.

Screenings of documentary and fiction films for wider audience in the University and from the neighbourhood. 

Extension Lectures by visiting scholars on specific issues pertaining to the thematic rubrics of the Centre.

Research underway includes projects on ‘Media Violence and Children’, ‘ICT and Governance’, ‘Media, Memory and Modernity’, ‘Ecology of the Music Industry in Colonial India’, ‘Television in Everyday Life in Rajasthan’ and ‘Social History of Radio in Colonial India’.

The Centre also plans to initiate:

Visiting Fellowships to enrich research at the Centre as also to open up further avenues for partnerships in consultancy, advocacy and training.

Discussion Papers to share preliminary findings and works-in-progress pertaining to the Centre’s thrust areas.
